These are often unique – very beautiful – and examples of what nature naturally provides.
They are unusual tables and most will invite a lot of comment, but British grown trees produce some gorgeous timber, put to great use with these products many of which could be considered heirlooms. Why not eat off or work on beautiful tables when you have the choice? Just as our flooring is very different from any other normally available – so too with these tables. We hope you enjoy.
Every table is different – normal retail is not possible
In a retail environment if you see a product and order it you expect an (almost) identical product to arrive. But with Tranquility Tables each will be different so that isn’t possible. Each table top will therefore be photographed; individually numbered and shown here on this web site. Customers will therefore be able to order the table of their choice knowing it will be between unique and very unusual, but with the numbering each table will be special.
How the Tables are presented here
They are listed by species; in ascending price order and the location where the tree grew (provenance) is given. They can be supplied with different species for the base and top if ordered in that format, especially useful where the base is to be painted. The price will be the average of the two species chosen. For example Sycamore, Sweet Chestnut and Horse Chestnut would all look wonderful on gently painted bases where that suits the room decoration.
The Styles – commissions are also taken
There are two initial standard lines but circular and oval shapes can be made to order. The two stock lines are the ‘Farmhouse’ and the ‘Colonial’. The Farmhouse has just the 4 legs on the base while the Colonial has cross members between the end legs and a rail joining them centrally as a foot rail - all are individually made by craftsmen.

With Tranquility tables, almost every one will be different, so whereas if you go into a conventional retailer to buy furniture you will get what you see if you order it – the same cannot be true of our tables. In order therefore to give you a sensible choice, we have decided to photograph every table top we make and put them on this web site with a unique number so you can order your personal table and will know exactly what you are going to receive – unless you order before it is made! You have to trust us on the legs and frame but the species will be as described.
